What is the Meeting about ?
A structured Manifesto to be published
It is a platform of information and exchange regarding the Night in Europe. A way to share practices, regulations and aspirations from each territory in order to come up with a holistic and concrete vision of European nights, and from it, deduce considerations about nightlife that are worth exploring.
Genesis and evolution :
#1 : 2014 at the Grand Rex (Paris), « Towards a Night platform ». They enabled to gather a few actors eager to develop a European harmony when it comes to the Night, to informally seal the creation of the EuroCouncil of the Night and to give rise to organizers’ essential problematics for the institutional personnel to adjust.
#2 : 2015 at the Gaïté Lyrique (Paris), « To understand and objectify the Night ». The Meeting magnitudes and acquires an asserted European expertise and recognition. More speakers and more themes treated, after which everyone could observe the Parisian nights on a night walk orchestrated in collaboration with the geographer Luc Gwiazdzinski and the urbanist Florian Guérin.
#3 : 2018 is placed under the prospective angle, with a special « Nights from the Future » edition. Bolstered by a European influence and expertise, the EuroCouncil of the Night thus wants to be able to dream of the Night.
This new ambition implies the use of a new format. Because before being able to dream, you first need to understand : and thus, 10 working groups will try and come up with lines of thinking and/or solutions on key problematics of nightlife. A content destined to be published in a Manifesto in May, which involves a framework meant for decision-makers that tends to observe, analyse and structure the Night channel in Europe.

Une plateforme d’informations et d’échanges sur la Nuit en Europe. Un moyen de mettre en commun les pratiques, législations et aspirations de chaque territoire afin de constituer une vision holistique, concrète, des nuits européennes et en déduire des pistes de réflexions sur la vie nocturne.
Genèse et évolution :
#1 : 2014 au Grand Rex (Paris), « Vers une plateforme de la Nuit ». Elles ont permis de réunir un petit nombre d’acteurs désireux d’une entente européenne sur la Nuit, de sceller de façon informelle la création de l’EuroCouncil of the Night et de soulever des problématiques essentielles pour les organisateurs auprès des institutionnel-le-s.
#2 : 2015 à la Gaîté Lyrique (Paris), « Comprendre et objectiver la Nuit ». Les Rencontres prennent de l’ampleur et acquièrent une expertise et une reconnaissance européenne affirmée. Plus d’intervenants et plus de thématiques traitées à l’issue desquelles chacun a pu observer les nuits parisiennes sur un parcours nocturne orchestré en collaboration avec le géographe Luc Gwiazdzinski et l’urbaniste Florian Guérin.
#3 : 2018 est placé sous l’angle de la prospective avec une édition spéciale « Les Nuits du Futur ». Fort d’un rayonnement et d’une expertise européens, l’EuroCouncil of the Night veut maintenant pouvoir rêver la Nuit.
Cette nouvelle ambition suppose un nouveau format. Car avant de rêver, il faut d’abord comprendre : 10 groupes de travail s’appliqueront ainsi à dégager des pistes de réflexion et/ou des solutions sur des thématiques au coeur des problématiques de la vie nocturne. Un contenu qui se verra publié en mai dans un Livre Blanc, ouvrage référentiel à destination des décideurs qui tend à observer, analyser et structurer la filière Nuit en Europe.
